National Best Friend Day

Today is Best Friends day and we would like to introduce two of the very best of friends in our home.

Lula and Lita first met when they both became residents in Milesian Manor and it didn’t take long for them to form an unbreakable friendship. Always joining in with daily activities both in and outside of the home.

Lula and Lita are affectionately known by staff as double trouble, it’s not often you see one without the other and if neither can be found, you can be sure that Lita is in Lula’s room helping choose outfits for their next night out. They are always looking for new ways to have fun and love nothing more than going on adventures. They particularly enjoy going to the movies in their very own home accompanied of course with a glass of prosecco, olives and cheese, these ladies really do know how to enjoy the high life!!

Lula and Lita really look forward to going out once a month with staff members Collette and Caroline, to the pub of course for a ‘wee pink gin’ and a whole lot of fun.

Shopping trips are also high on the agenda, stopping of course for coffee in Meadowlane Shopping Centre.

What makes a best friend?

Lula:

Listening to each other and caring about the other person. Being able to make each other laugh, which we do a lot! Trusting each other and picking each other up when we are feeling down.

Lita:

Being there for each other through the good times and the bad. Sharing how you are feeling and making memories together. Lula was a great support to me when my husband Joe died, she really listened to me when I was having a hard day. Lula understands as she has also lost her husband Charlie.
